(Some sources list Daniel's place of origin as Lyon, Rhonetal, Switzerland. This is now known to be incorrect.) He and Susanne Chappe immigrated before 05 Aug 1655 to Otterberg, Pfalz, Germany. (The Cherdron family arrived in Otterberg before 5 Aug 1655, when Daniel's son Jean Cherdron was a sponsor at the baptism of Jean Vilcain.) Abraham Cherdron; he was born 30 Sep 1667; he was baptized 06 Oct 1667; (the witnesses were Michel Hubert and his wife Marie Hemmel, Jean Dore and his wife Martha Baugeo) he married Marie Sibyle Kramer, daughter of Teobald Kramer, between 08 Oct 1700 and 31 Jan 1701; he died 28 Mar 1750 at age 82. He was Erbbeständer (leaseholder) of the Hof der Pflegerey (Pflegerey farm) in Otterberg. He Abraham's death record mentions that he was the father of 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls and also 6 children, 2 boys and 4 girls, along with 17 grandchildren. This may indicate that he had been married twice. If this is true, Marie Sibyle Kramer would have to bethe second wife as she outlived him. A record of this possible first marriage has not been found, and no children of this marriage have been found, except perhaps Jeanne Elisabeth, listed below, whose birth record has not yet been found. It is possible that the marriage took place in a nearby church, and that the children of this marriage were baptised there. He received First Holy Communion 1693. He and Marie Sibyle Kramer were witness 31 Jan 1701. He was taxed 1722.
  4. David Cherdron; he was born 18 May 1669; he was baptized 20 May 1669; (the witnesses were Guillaume Cordier and his wife Madeleine Cloteau) he married Anna Marguerite Spits, daughter of Guillaume Spits and Anna Marie (-----), circa 1705?; he died 27 Jan 1745 at age 75. (the cause of death was fever and dropsy) He was Carpenter. He was Ditch digger. He received First Holy Communion circa 1687. He was taxed 1722.
  5. Jeanne Cherdron; she was born 28 Sep 1670; she was baptized 01 Oct 1670; (the witnesses were Anthoine Migeot, and Jeanne Colette, and Elizabeth Vaureux, young girls) she married Jean Migeot, son of Jean Migeot, 25 Oct 1690-17 May 1692; she died before 31 Oct 1703. (Her widower remarried on this date.) She was mentioned in the article 'Aus der pfalzischen Familiengeschichte und Volksfunde', by Minister Stock, where he writes that she married Jean Migeot of Enfenbach, had died in 1703 and was the daughter of Jean Pierre, a third son of Daniel Cherdron. He also writes that this third son, Jean Pierre, also had a son named David, born 1680. No other evidence of a third son of Daniel has been located. She received First Holy Communion circa 1687.
